Emergency Fund

On top of taking classes, students deal with real-life issues of family, health, hunger, and transportation. Sometimes a single obstacle can make or break a student’s ability to stay in school. That is why we created the Emergency Fund. Through this fund, we have helped more than 800 students each year.

SJC Marketplace

Food insecurity can cause students to miss or drop a class, or not buy a required textbook or supplies. Yet nearly 25% of college students nationwide report the lowest levels of food insecurity.

It disproportionately affects students of color and first-generation college students the most. To combat hunger on our campuses, we work with the Houston Food Bank to support the San Jac Marketplaces. Students are able to shop at our markets weekly and get the food they need without worrying about cost or sacrificing their education.

Qualities of Your Annual Giving Dollars

Unrestricted donations are funds given without specific directions, enabling the Foundation to address urgent student needs, support scholarships, and enhance educational programs. This flexibility is vital for tackling evolving challenges in higher education and maximizing the impact of each donation.
Annual Giving Partners enjoy increased brand exposure and access to San Jac events. By supporting the Foundation, companies enhance educational programs, strengthen workforce development, and contribute to community benefits.
Donations reflect a company's values, aligning its brand with its mission and vision statements. Sharing common goals ensures that donations are effectively used to advance mutual objectives, leading to greater impact in the targeted areas of need.
A recurring annual gift is a consistent investment in the future of education and workforce development. It provides a steady stream of support that allows the college to plan and implement long-term strategies aimed at enhancing educational programs and facilities.
The Foundation partners with generous organizations that offer anonymous matching funds, which can double the impact of the donation.
Donors can benefit from tax deductions, reducing their taxable income as a reward for their philanthropy.
